Top 5 Vegan Restaurants in Athens
Plant-based dining in Athens is amazing! Many Greek staples are either vegan to start or can be easily made vegan. Greek salads, dolmades (stuffed grape leaves), eggplant dishes, and gemista (stuffed peppers) just to name a few. Plant-based restaurants can be found all over the city – from Plaka to Pangrati. My mouth is watering remembering all the fresh delicious food.

Here were our favorites:
Winner’s Vegan – near Syntagma square
We enjoyed the chocolate raspberry smoothie, the curries and Dynamite rice bowl. There was plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. They even had a kid’s meal with nuggets and pasta.

Vegan Beat – Montastiraki square
This place was very popular. It is first come-first serve so we had to wait for a table. It is all outdoor seating. We really liked the gluten-free Moussaka and the Big Boss burger.

The Vegan Vandal – Pangrati
This is a small restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. We liked the Parmesean salad, Crispy cauliflower sandwich and the Ladenia Kimolou.

Joshua Tree Cafe – Pangrati
We loved the decor – plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. We went for brunch and enjoyed an oatmilk latte, mushroom avocado toast and tofu BLT.

Veganaki – Between Plaka and Pangrati
The lentil moussaka was really great here. Also plenty of indoor and outdoor seating for a smaller restaurant
Dessert
Holy Llama – Syntagma square
From croissants to cookies to macarons – all vegan!

Plan(e)t Ice Cream – Montastiraki square
Oatmilk based ice cream – extremely delicious.

So many plant-based options in Athens. The hardest part is to decide which one to visit first!
